House at the Green Tree
The two-storey building of Renaissance origin stands in a terraced development on the north-west side of the square. The regular five-bay façade from the 19th century opens on the ground floor with two semicircular arcades. The house was built in 1590 by a certain Paul Konarowsky and in 1721 it was bought by the town to house soldiers. In 1787, Emperor Joseph II himself spent the night here during his state visit to Tsarina Catherine II. This event is commemorated by a plaque on the house dating from 2007.
