Czeiczner's Villa
The former villa of the manufacturer Ferdinand Czeiczner was built in 1910 according to the plans of Josef Blum. The building is derived from the traditional castle composition and is dominated by the Neo-Baroque and Neo-Classical style. The villa is one of the largest residential houses in the town and is an important (also typologically) evidence of the housing of the wealthiest business classes of Nový Jičín, among whom Ferdinand Czeiczner was one. Ferdinand was not only one of the leading producers of textile goods in the surrounding area, but he even held the post of mayor of the town. It was in 1910 that he had a family villa built on Husova Street, which he bequeathed to the town after his death. Later on, the building housed a nursery for children.
Today the building houses the town library, with a section for adults and children. There is also a park with seating and a children's playground on the library grounds.
