Above the passageway to Lidická Street is a double-graded prismatic clock tower topped with a gallery and a small tower, which was added to the town hall during the radical reconstruction in 1929-1930.

The tower offers visitors a wide view of the surrounding area in all four directions.

The chimes on the tower of the town hall were taken in 2013 to commemorate the 700th anniversary of the first written mention of Nový Jičín. The chimes play a total of 8 times a day, always two minutes before the full hour from 9 am to 3 pm, and then at 6 pm. After that, the classic chime of the time indication is sounded. The clock also allows various melodies to be recorded, stored and played back, so songs such as General Laudon Goes Through the Village or Tight Path Leads to Jičín can be heard from the Town Hall Tower. At noon, Beethoven's Ode to Joy is always played.

There are two ways to access the tower:

as part of the City Walk service, which must be booked in advance at the Nový Jičín Visitor Centre.
during the Nový Jičín Town Festival in September
