The village of Životice u Nové Jičína is surrounded by the Jedle and Hlásnice mountains from the northeast and the Mořkovská mountain from the south. The Jičínka River flows through the valley of the village. The Church of St. John the Baptist, which was built in 1451 on the site of the original wooden church of St. John, which completely burned down in 1898, is worth mentioning. A wooden altar dating back to 1482 has been preserved from this period and is currently housed in the Moravian Gallery in Brno.
