Tourist information center Of Nový Jičín

The village of Teplice nad Bečvou, as the name suggests, lies on the left bank of the river Bečva. From here you can see the panorama of the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy Mountains with Lysá hora and Radhoštěm, as well as the Hostýn and Vsetín hills. Among the well-known excursion sites are the Hranice Abyss, the deepest flooded cave in the world, the ruins of Helfštýn Castle, which is a popular tourist destination and an important centre of artistic blacksmithing, and the Zbrašovské aragonite caves, which have been open since 1926. However, Teplice nad Bečvou is most famous for its spa, which specialises in clients with heart and vascular problems.

Zbrašov Caves

The Zbrašovské Caves are the most famous karst area in the vicinity of Hranice in Moravia. They are decorated with the mineral aragonite, which covers the walls of the caves in the form of bushes and crystals. Here you will also find conical stalactites that form around the places with acid springing up. These are called geyser stalagmites and striated crusts, otherwise known as prismatic onyx, which takes the form of so-called doughnuts. It is these phenomena that make the cave one of Europe's unique caves. Due to the constant air temperature, it is one of the warmest caves in the country. You can see them on the 375-metre-long visiting route.
