Štramberk
The Štramberk Municipal Monument Reserve is located in the neighbourhood of Kopřivnice. The dominant feature of the town is the ruins of the original castle with a cylindrical tower Trúba, the top of which can be climbed by tourists.
In addition, the town offers the Šipka Museum, the Zdeněk Burian Museum, a mini zoo and a beer spa. Also worth a visit is the 100-year-old National Orchard, from which a path leads to the Šipka Cave, famous for the discovery of the jawbone of a prehistoric child. The Šipka Cave offers visitors a beautiful view of Trúba, the picturesque houses of Štramberk and beautiful nature.
A sought-after natural attraction is Kamenárka with an old limestone quarry, where a unique botanical garden with lime-loving and thermophilic flora typical of Štramberk was created. There is also a beautiful view of the surroundings. The stone quarry is freely accessible all year round, the botanical garden only seasonally. Štramberk is a part of the so-called Laško Gate of the Beskydy Mountains, along with Kopřivnice, Příbor and Hukvaldy.
The newly reconstructed public swimming pool in Libotín, in the local part of Štramberk, is an opportunity for pleasant relaxation and sports activities. When visiting this "Moravian Bethlehem", as Štramberk is often called, do not forget to taste the famous Štramberk ears, a traditional sweet pastry steeped in legend about the Mongol siege of the town in the 13th century.
