Nový Jičín - Kunín - Bartošovice - Nový Jičín
The route leads from Nový Jičín around the Jičínka River through Šenov u Nový Jičína to the chateau in Kunín, which is one of the most valuable Baroque buildings of its kind in Moravia. It was built for the Counts of Harrach in 1726-1734 by the famous Viennese builder Jan Lukáš Hildebrandt. The castle flourished most at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries, when it was owned by Countess Marie Walburga of Truchsess-Zeil.
The next stop is Bartošovice, the heart of the Poodří Protected Landscape Area. The local landmark is a Neo-Renaissance chateau, which includes a park with the largest living organism in the Czech Republic, the sycamore-leaved plane tree. In the village you can also visit the Poodří House, where a rescue station for wildlife operates. Among the sights is also a technical monument, namely a water mill on the Odra River. You can get back along the long-distance cycle route No. 5 and then connect in Kunín to cycle route No. 6175 heading back to Nový Jičín.
More information about the rescue station can be found here.
