Max Mannheimer - a Holocaust survivor who lost most of his family. He later became a painter, writer and a prominent humanist. A native and honorary citizen of Nový Jičín.

In his honour, a memorial plaque was unveiled in Nový Jičín to commemorate his life and legacy. It is located on the building where he once lived and serves as a permanent reminder of his courage and efforts to promote reconciliation and tolerance among people.
