A memorial plaque unveiled on 28.9.2021 on the occasion of the 85th birth of Václav Havel and the unofficial naming of the public space

Nový Jičín is the first town in the Moravian-Silesian Region to name a part of its public space after the first post-revolutionary president, Václav Havel. The author of the bronze commemorative plaque in the shape of a tile with a stylized inscription "Václav Havel Courtyard" and the text "Act No. 94/2012 Václav Havel contributed to freedom and democracy" is Jan Zemánek.
