Major General Jaroslav Hlaďo was the last commander of the Czechoslovak Fighter Wing of the Royal Air Force in Great Britain during the Second World War, who did much for our country and the post-war reconstruction of an independent Czechoslovakia. The memorial plaque commemorating the honorary citizen of Nový Jičín, General Jaroslav Hlaď, is located on the wall near the entrance to the Javor Shopping Centre.
