Eduard Veith
Born in 1858 in Nový Jičín. An outstanding representative of the generation of realist painters of the late 19th century. He became famous mainly as the author of decorative interior paintings in important cultural buildings throughout much of Europe – Prague, Vienna, Berlin, Bucharest... His ceiling painting in the building of today's State Opera in Prague is particularly famous. He was invited to paint decorations in renowned private residences, especially in Vienna, and in Nový Jičín, for example, in the Hückl villas. Many of his outstanding oil paintings can be found in the collections of the Museum of the Novojičínsko Region.
