Born in 1824 in Nový Jičín. First a councilor, then deputy mayor, and finally mayor of Vienna. In his positions, he made a significant contribution to the reorganization of the capital of Austria-Hungary, especially its central part. Newald's concept of a main ring road was later adopted by many of our cities, including Nový Jičín.
