The Nový Jičín painter Hugo Baar is considered one of the most important cultural personalities of Nový Jičín and Moravia at the beginning of the 20th century with supra-regional and supranational significance.
This year marks the 150th anniversary of his birth, which was commemorated by exhibitions and lectures.
The monument is the work of the Novojičín sculptor Leopold Hohl and the architect Hugo Blum, whose
tomb was restored as part of the first stage. This tombstone is an immovable cultural monument.
