The Great Coat of Arms of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy from 1879

Apparently sandstone relief extension on the front gable of the former County Courthouse on the Theatre Street side. Removed after WW1 and only documented in a photograph from the turn of the 19th/20th century.
In the cartouche surmounted by an imperial crown and held on the sides by two griffins was an eagle carrying on its chest a twice-half-finished plate encircled by the knee of the Order of the Golden Fleece, in the right field a Habsburg lion, in the middle field a Babenberg cross and in the left a Lorraine cosmic cross with allerions. Below the shield on the band is the motto VIRIBUS UNITIS.
The inscription FRANCISCUS IOSEPHUS I.
The building of the district governor's office was built according to the project of the Viennese architect Otto Thienemann.
