Commemorative plaque with the coat of arms of Nový Jičín from 1599
City Valcha on the former Valchova Street
Sandstone slab with dimensions 101,5 x 82 x 21 cm originally probably mounted on the town valcha, now deposited in the Museum of Novojičín, inv.no. Kam 37, accession no. 471/2001
In the centre of the upper part of the plate a relief municipal emblem - in the plate a clothed arm holding the right half of a coiled arrow stands out from the left edge.
Inscribed in capital along the emblem: SOLIDEO GLORIA

The plaque commemorates the erection of a stone souk, which replaced the original wooden building. Its location in the north-eastern part of the town was determined by the course of the mill stream.
