Forest Park Skalky
The recreation and relaxation zone of Lesopark Skalky is interwoven with paths and benches. There is a rose garden with a viewing arbour with a sundial and terraces lined with planted roses and other perennials. The adjacent sunny grove creates an ideal spot for sunbathing and picnics. As you stroll through the woodland, you may come across deciduous and coniferous trees, evergreens including colourful rhododendrons, flowers and other perennials. The plants are marked with information signs.
The project was created by one of the most prominent Czech garden and landscape architects, Ívar Otruba, thanks to whom more than five hectares of previously unmaintained land have been put to new use. In total, over 13,000 trees and shrubs and 11,000 perennials were planted in the area, which includes part of Hückel's gardens and formerly agricultural land.
