Cycle path "Railway" Nový Jičín - Hostašovice
Basic information:
Route: Nový Jičín, Žilinská street (0 km) → Nový Jičín, Bludovice (2.8 km) → Hodslavice (1 km) → Životice u Nový Jičína (1.7 km) → Mořkov (1.2 km) → Hostašovice, train station (3 km)
Route length: 9.76 km
Difficulty: easy, minimal climb, suitable for families with children
Travel time: approx. 30 min.
Surface: asphalt
The route runs in place of the former railway, which was destroyed by the flood in 2009. It is intended for cyclists, in-line skaters, in winter in favourable conditions for cross-country skiers and in the area of Hodslavice it can also be used by pedestrians. It is extended from the Hostašovice railway station to the Zrzávka outlet by a tourist cycle sign. It is also possible to turn off the cycle path in Bludovice after the former railway bridge to the route towards the water reservoir Čerťák.
There are a total of five covered rest areas with tables, benches and bike racks along the route. An information panel with a map describes the sights of the village in which the rest area is located.
