The Nový Jičín Tourist Information Centre (TIC) was founded in 1993. Since 19 December 2011, it has been part of the organisational unit ‘Nový Jičín Visitor Centre – City of Hats’ (hereinafter referred to as NCNJ). It is based in Laudon House on Masaryk Square. TIC Nový Jičín has been an official tourist information centre since 2003 and is certified by the Czech Tourism Authority, CzechTourism. In August 2019, the certification committee of the Association for Rural Tourism and Agritourism awarded it a certificate and label in the ‘Regional Experiences’ category.
Its core mission is to provide tourist information and promote the town of Nový Jičín both within the Czech Republic and abroad.
The TIC provides general information about the town and its surroundings, sporting and cultural events, train and bus connections, and a database of local businesses and organisations. It offers promotional and information materials, a cultural calendar, and brochures and leaflets about the town in various languages. It also assists visitors and residents of Nový Jičín in accessing the necessary tourist services. It sells souvenirs and mementos relating to the town of Nový Jičín, town guides, maps of the town and surrounding area, postcards, tickets for cultural events, etc. The entire NCNJ building is covered by a free Wi-Fi network.
